    Landscape transformer electrical requirements
I want to install a 600 watt low voltage transformer that will be wired the 15 volt tap and carry a load of approximately 400 watts. Can I plug this into a 15 amp breaker without it tripping it?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I botched the first post with typos and incomplete info.

I am wanting to install a low voltage outdoor landscape lighting multi-tap transformer (12 - 15 watt taps) that will power landscape lights. The combined wattage of the fixtures I want to install is approximately 400 watts. I will be using the 15 volt tap on the transformer to overcome long home run wire runs (each of the two home run line runs will be approximately 110, with the feeder lines from the home run to the fixtures averageing about 30 feet) (total line length of about 140 feet). I will be using 10-2 wire to make those runs. My question is, given the makeup of the system I have just described, will the 15 amp circuit in my house's fuse box be large enough to power this setup if that circuit also has a computer, monitor, and 60 watt line level light fixture on it at the same time? How many amps will this set-up draw?

Thanks in advance for any info offered.

I asked a Landscape Architct who designs lighting as well, and he said , " yes your fine, no problem."
