What happens when someone is in prison for a hearing?
Hello miss:
There are a jillion different kind of hearings.

Sorry, it is a paternity/custody hearing
Will they let him out for the court date?
I believe he will have to show up in court if his name is on the court papers. So, yes, he would have to show up, they will most likely transfer him to court then take him back to jail/prison after the hearing.
He will need to be served papers in prison to appear in court. If this is a civil matter the person sueing him ( depending on state) may be responsible in paying for his transpertation costs, including guard, in other states if this is in the same state and locale, they may transfer him to the local court without cost.
He was served before he went to prison, and it was the county that served him.
Hello again, misscrank:
Nahhh. Even if he asked real nice and paid everything, they're not going to take him. Prison officials don't CARE about civil matters! He'll miss it!
