My son is 21 years old and he has tonsils problem for a long time. He is coughing most of the time and is on antibiotics most of the time. Doctor has advised him to have surgery to remove the tonsils. Please let me know if there is any other solution to cure it. Thanks

When a doctor says tonsils have to come out, then have it done. Keeping them serves no purpose if your son is coughing all the time and on antibiots most of the time. I don't understand your reasoning why you want another solution. He is not gaining anything and not losing anything of importance at this point.

I had tonsilitis numerous times when I was a teen and younger. I was never well enough to have the tonsils out so consequently I never had them out. Still have them.

To be constantly on antibiotics is not good. I would suggest that you take you son to a different doctor for a second opinion. Also the coughing makes me think of a post nasal drip problem.
