Yeah, there are actually people that either get veneers or gold fronts with fangs... but not sure if this is what the OP was asking...

Me, too. This is why it's nice to have the whole story rather than a portion before answering.

The word "sharpen" threw me off.

I've smoothed sharp canines before. I guess you could sharpen them for "esthetic" reasons, although I would never do that kind of treatment
