Question: If anyone can please help, I need to know how much time the creditor has to enter a civil money judgment on services rendered... In other words, is there a limit on time that the creditor must enter the money judgment. Before he can no longer submit a judgment... Thanks!!

Hi sweetpea35... appreciate your question... it is not a credit card... actually, it is a vet who treated my cats a few years ago and now he has sent the balance to a collection agency... I received a letter from the collection agency yesterday and was wondering if there is a statue of limitations on when the vet (or collection agency)can put in a judgment... do you have that information? Its going to depend on where you live. 2-8 years depending on the state and the amount owed.

Hi steve, sounds like you're a lawyer... ny... was around $2000 but he added significant interest so now it's about 2888, or something like that... is it 2 or 3 years in ny?? Do you know?? Thanks...

I am not a lawyer, but pretty experienced in the field and good at research.

Sales of Goods = 4 years
Written Contract = 6 years

This would seem to qualify as a written contract which means the Statute of Limitations would be 6 years.
