I was divorced from my kids father in 2002 and we had joint custody. 2 years ago I got involved in a very abusive relationship and I got very depressed and lost custody of my kids. I have been working my butt off trying to get my life on track to get my kids back! Problem is my ex and his new wife pretty much want me out of their life, Tell the kids and me that they are not old enough to decide anything but my kids are 9 and almost 11. I can't afford a attorney, and when we went to court before I represented myself and got every other weekend and holidays. I can not take much more of this any advice?

Depending on how long it has been since your last appearance in court, there may not be anything you can do for a while.

So while the time passes, save some money and get a good lawyer.

My advice would be to make the most of your time with your kids.

Also when you do go back for a custody change ask for a parental evaluation. That way they can see your cleared up and will listen more to the whole situation before its presented to the courts.
