My son is 10 and a half years old. I was never married to his father. My son's father last had contact with my son when my son was one and half years old. This was by my son's father's choice. It has now been almost 9 years since he has made any contact. If he were to request visitation through the court would he be granted visitation? I believe he resides in another state at this time. I have no contact information from him.

He probably would- although after a break like that courts tend to start very slowly, usually through supervised, short visits and calls at first, building to unsupervised and after a period, sometimes of years, if things go well, he may eventually assume a full visitation schedule.
