Hi my name is Isabel( I go by bel) and I am new here.
I am kind of embarrassed about this question.. :o
I have a boyfriend that I love very much and he always pleases me in the bedroom. But if I am not with him for one day I look at porn. Is there something wrong with a girl looking at it? I don't know if its just a stereotype that only guys like it?
I like to watch stuff that I would never even consider doing. So why do I watch it? Am I a sex addict? Thanks

I think we hear more about men and porn because it seems as if the addiction to porn is seen more in men.
It is perfectly natural and even healthy in many instances.

Watching porn doesn't make you a sex addict and females enjoy watching it just as much as males.
We all watched it for different reasons but sometimes you can get a good laugh from it especially from the opening scences.
Girls are not as visually stimulated (supposedly) while men are primarily visually stimulated, hense the stereotypical only men enjoy porn.
It is very common that women enjoy porn as much as men.
I don't know why we hear more about men watching it. I am very comfterble with my sexuality and I have a boyfriend too and I watch porn too. I thought there was something wrong with me at first as well but as I got older I relised women just don't talk about it like men do. That's all. A lot of my girlfriend watch porn but hide it. So I decided why hide it? My boyfriend and I started watching it as we make love. It's something we do together.
My friends are the exact opposite because we rate and talk about them like they're rated "r" films. We crack up at some of the title names.
But to the OP don't be ashamed nor embarrass of your porn watching. You aren't breaking any laws.

My boyfriend finds it fun. Because it brings a bit of excitement to the bedroom with out actually having to do anything different or odd. U two could sit there together and figure out what kind of porn u both like/can agree on. Who knows maybe your both into the same kind. And if not it will help u both try new things with out going out of your comfort zone. If he already knows couldn't hurt to try. Up to you though.
Maybe we need more women porn directors out there to cater more towards women. Im sure there are some out there. I just need to search :)
On another note, Have you seen 'porn for women' at bookstores? There are pictures of men with nice bodies with their shirts off doing something women don't like to do (ie. Laundty, vacumning, cooking dinner) haha. One has a guy holding a cake out and says, I think you should put on a few punds. Haha. Hilarious.

I don't have any problem with it as long it isn't the crutch that keeps your drive alive... just like any other thing one might use to piqué ones interest.
For ex... I love seeing my partner shower. Yes, its great fun to join her, but I get a special rise (no pun intended) just watching her shower. When she leaves the bathroom door open and the curtain drawn a little, knowing ill be able to see her, its great.
Likewise, when she changes in clothes in front of the back window, when she knows I'm working in the back yard and she knows ill see her, its great. Sure... I could be right in the room with her watching her undress, but somehow that voyeur aspect amps it up a notch.
Even the act of undressing I find very arousing. Yes... I'm a happy man if my lover is standing before me naked... but I like to watch the layers peel off even more...
But I don't NEED that to be interested, engaged, attentive. It isn't something I must rely on. So... I think it's a pretty healthy diversion and change of pace.
And that's not to say someone who, for ex, needs the lights turned off, is doing something bad... they are just limiting their options... making their opportunity for pleasure perhaps limited.
When I worry about porn is when someone always needs it to get amped, interested... and that doesn't need to be just about porn. If someone always needs a drink or two to relax and just can't get mentally in the right frame of mind, it's a crutch. If someone has to role play all the time or needs lingerie to get mentally amped, it's a crutch. Even then... that doesn't mean its wrong... it just means you are perhaps limited in what can bring you to the right frame of mind.
The fewer "crutches", the better. Not all partners may share your likes.
The only other thing id say is people who use porn as a "how to have good sex" tool are probably going to be very disappointed. Might be fun to watch skin on skin or what's "taboo"... but if I did what was done in most porn flicks to my past lovers, theyd all mostly be disappointed...
