    Back owed child support
My ex-husband owes almost $20,000 in back support. He is not currently paying. He has not seen or had any contact with his children in over 8 years. I have a case with the child support enforcement in my area, but they rarely have any luck in finding him. My question is, Why do I never receive his tax returns or his stimulus payment that was received this year? Do I have to request his tax return every year or should child support automatically be getting it?

In the unlikely case that he actually files a tax return and gets a refund, you should get it. If he is dodging 20k in support, chances are he is dodging the IRS as well.

They should be intercepting it - but again, if he isn't filing, there is nothing to intercept. If he didn't file a 2007 tax return, he wouldn't receive a 2008 stimulus check, if I am not mistaken.
