Hi

3 years ago I had a CT Scan and Pelvic Ultrasound for chronic and acute pelvic and low back pain that I have had since 2001. During both of the Scan and Ultrasound something was found according to both of the technicians (friends of my spouse) but said that my doctor would explain. The doctor contacted me about 3 days later and said everything was fine. I still have the pain and my doctor will not investigate any further.

Can someone look at my scans copies are attached and let me know if I should continue to pursue or just drop it.

You should take these films to another md. Please do not rely on this site for an accurate read.

You have to take these to a specialist. :)

Are you overweight? That is the cause of most back pain, isn't it. That or an unhappy marriage.

With an unhappy marriage the pain is lower in the back - :)

Again - what kind of medical advice is this?

My "medical advice" was to take the medical pictures to a specialist!

Try to read for content.

I advised her of the *most common* causes of back pain... obesity by far the number one cause... a person can lose weight and cure back pain.

She stated she had lower back pain.

Unhappiness causes back pain also. :)

I see nowhere that obesity is the number 1 cause of back pain. What is your source?

Please understand that there is no one here that is qualified to read these images. You will need to take them to a radiologist to be read and treated by an MD.

Please take your CT scans to a different professional for another opinion. We can't possibly read these and correctly interpret them.

From personal experience from having several auto accidents where I suffered lower back pain for years you may have irritated your actual spinal cord or the pain is from discs bulging out into the spinal column causing the pain.

I looked but am unable to find any definite pathology in the films.
But of course, I wasn't able to zoom into them and look, so I cannot be 100% sure.

Chronic pelvic pain due to pelvic inflammatory disease or Endometriosis can often cause chronic low back pain and these two conditions are the commonest known causes of pain of such a long standing.

Rather than look at the spinal column for the cause of pain, I would start with the Uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries, unless there is a specific reason why one should look at the spine, like a history of trauma to the spine... I'm assuming there isn't any...

Eight years is a long time and frankly, I am rather surprised that PID / Endometriosis have not been considered.

Do I have you confused with someone or have you posted before?

I find it extremely dangerous to attempt to read these films, post on an Internet site, and give a medical opinion - such as, you are unable to find definite pathology.

First off scans of 3 years are really too old to get an accurate diagnosis from. I would strongly go see your physician and hopefully he will order an MRI of you spine to begin with and go from there. MRI's are much better at imaging then ct's are of the spine and being yours are 3 years old a lot can change in that much time and most doctors would want to get updated films before they would even begin to diagnose you or offer any form of treatment.
