    Judgment lien against property
My husband has a lien against him for past due child support. He is current on payments now but is paying off the past due support.
We are considering buying a home together. My question is if we were to sell the home while the lien is still attached, can they take all profit or only the 50% profit that would be rightfully his.
We live in California. I am not responsible for this debt. It existed prior to marriage.
    Thanks.

    Hello l:

    Maybe, probably, and possibly...

Therefore, even if there's a remote possibility that you could LOSE, I'd form corporation with hubby to buy the new house.

That way, they'd NEVER collect from you.
