    Lien on my home.
A former employer (1099) is trying to recoup commission I earned. The customer changed their mind about the product after I left the company. So now they have attached a lien to my home. It says it's a "Tax Lien". What does this mean and how does/will this affect me, my finances, my credit and my family? Thank you.

Were you notified of the pending lien? Is there a Judgment against you?

I fail to see how an "employer" can file a tax lien against you.

Something doesn't sound right here. A tax lien is filed by a taxing authority for taxes unpaid. The only other type of lien that can be filed without a judgement is a mechanic's lien for work done on the property.

Otherwise the employer has to get a judgement first.

What exactly did you get, from whom and what exactly does it say?
