Need to force parent to help pay for son. He lives in La Barca Mexico and I live in California U.S. It is only right that the parent in Mexico helps out with his son and he just settled a workers comp case but my son receives nonthing. Any advice on how to get action done. Please

The only thing you can really do is contact the Mexican Embassy in Washington (if there even is one.) Everything will hinge on how cooperative the Mexican authorities are willing to be. Of course, any American source of income he receives legitimately (not "under the table"), such as workers comp. social security, income tax refunds, can be garnished to at least give you some assistance. You'll need a court order to do this. A lawyer can help you or you may be able to file a motion yourself. Be sure to document everything you can concerning his income and assets.

I was told that there is no money left to pay the child support lien that was put on his case.

I personally would have no knowledge about any lien that may have ben placed on his workers comp case. Was there ever an order for child support established by the family court in the first place? If so then check with the agency in California that is responsible for child support enforcement. In my state it's the Probation Department but it may be different in California. They can advise you whether there's been any lien placed on his assets. Also they'd be in a position to place one and intercept any payments due him from virtually any source that's American in origin ; wages, tax refunds, worker's comp payments, disability payments, social security payments, etc.

Well I'm not sure about how you can get support when the person is already out of the country. If drug cases aren't solved by International Relations why would this? Well just an opinion. First of all, how rich is this guy? You are talking pesos to dollar equivalency. Well I hope you get at least 100 bucks -minus the cost. You'd then need to hire a detective and a lawyer. With all the stress, effort, and money will be invested in here I think I wouldn't even count on it. You have very thin hope here.
