Kyra is a 2yr old staffy,female. She has ben licking her paws and scratching her backside on the carpet for sometime. Have taken her to vet and this stopped for while but then pessisted again. He came us some cream for her paws and bum. Not sure what else to do??

From what I've seen in the Veterinary field as a Tech, it's most likely either allergies or possibly your dog may need it's anal glands expressed. I would at least bring your dog in to a Vet to get either checked out.

Do you take your dog to obedience classes or any type of classes ? Our older dog started this at one point, after many vet visits it was discovered that the cleaner used on the kennel floors was irritating her paws and butt from when she was sitting. Or it could be from pesticides used on a lawn, Just a thought.

I rubbing the butt on the floor I am sure is an anal gland problem, and they need to be released.

The paw problem, I would talk to your vet.

My 3 month old stafford was also doing this. I had him checked by the vet and fully dewormed and anal glands checked too and nothing. I changed his food and it seems to have completely gone away. I think it was allergy related. Usually duck and fish are hypoallergenic meats for dogs with allergies. He was on a food with duck salmon and chicken. His new food just has duck in it. Go figure I have 2 dogs with meat protein allergies lol. My other dog's allergy presented itself as itchy/yeasty ears.
