    Pegnancy and MIRENA
Hi I just had a baby boy, my 2nd, on June 19, 2008... I then got the Uterine implant mirena in October of 08. It has been going well, however I had a very light period last moth and this month nothing. I usually get it within the first week of the month like clockwork, But nothing yet as of 3/25/09. I have backaches and cramps badly and all my muscles are sore, and on top of that I have breast soreness and they are very tender around the nipples. I was just wondering if anyone could help me (esp doula lc or J_9) as they helped me when I was pregnant, what are the probabilities that I could be pregnant with this MIRENA implant. And just to let everyone know I am a 20 year old mother of two boys under 2 and VERY fertile, I am not looking for criticism, because I am stable with my husband and my life, and I have a home and my husband and I both have great stable jobs, and take care of my children as good as any other mother. So please don't get on here and tell me to stop having sex or anything of that sort, because that's not what I am here for. I am completely satisfied with my life. Thank you so much. Any NICE advice and Professional advice is greatly appreciated.

    DoulaLC

If your periods had been normal up until the light one last month, and nothing so far this month, given that and your other possible symptoms, it would be wise to take a pregnancy test.

It may just be some irregular cycles, which are not uncommon when using IUDs, especially in the first several months of use, but of course you would want to find out to be sure.
