    Heavy Periods
Hi I am 45 years old and always had heavy periods and passing clots as well. They are still pretty heavy but were only heavy for two days before and now it is 3 days. The cramps are bad too. I am so self conscious and I am wondering why and what can be done.

Yeah but birth control pills have side effects.

You should contact your Gyno about this. BC pills can lessen your periods, but if that is not a route you want to go; your doctor will have more information for you.

If you can't afford a doctor, there should be a clinic that can offer advise, or even going to planned parenthood.

And by the way... in my experience, Birth controls do a lot more good than harm. If you are not taking it just because the risk of side effects, I hope you are not taking Aspirin, or cold medicine, or allergy medicine.

Birth control is awesome. Clears up your skin, makes periods very light. I rarely had cramps at all when I was on the pill. It was awesome!
