I have a question! Me and my husband have been tryng to conceive for about 4 months, but I have not had a natural period in a year. The periods I have had were induced with provera or Prometrium. So my doctor said I would probably not ever ovulate on my own. So He put me on Clomid is there anything that I should know about clomid.

Was it determined through testing that you definitely are not ovulating?

Clomid can work very well for some women... you may be on it for a few rounds... not recommended for long term use, and should be monitored regularly while using it. Some women notice some side effects, usually minor and short lived, but some can be bothersome, such as mood swings in some women. A low dose is used to start with and possibly changing to a bit higher dose after a couple of cycles if need be.

There are other medication options after trying Clomid if that does not work for you.

Well, I was not tested I guess. But I have not had a natural period in over a year. So he put me on prometrium for the lack of periods. ANd I have also done ovulation tests and they have all been negative.
