15 amp switch on 20 amp circuit
I am setting up an end of run switched outlet on a 20 amp circuit. I want to know if I have to use a 20 amp switch or if a 15 amp switch would be OK. I was told that you can use a 15 amp outlet on a 20 amp circuit, so can I use a 15 switch on the circuit as well?

If the load being switched is 15A or less you can use a 15A switch.

Needless to say, it is very rare to see or need a 20A switch in a residential setting.
