    Noisy bathtub drain
I have a new large capacity bathtub. It has a push type drain, no overflow. When the tub is full it drains quite noisily. At one point it almost screeches or whines. The plumber who installed it says it is because there is no overlfow to allow air to get in or out of the drain. If this is the case, how do I fix it?

    Thanks

Contact the manufacturer to see if it was installed per their instructions. I had to add an AAV to mine to get it to stop making noises.

This sounds like the tub was never vented. Unvented tubs vent through the overflow when they're draining but since you don't have a over flow the tubs pulling air from somewhere. Hence, your noise. Follow Bobs advice and install a AAV,(air admittance vent) just downstream from the trap. Good luck, Tom
