Could I be pregnant? If not, what is wrong with me?
My husband and I are not exactly trying to conceive but were not doing a whole lot to prevent it (rhythm method or pull out). With that said, I am usually very regular with my cycle. I have been exhibiting "symptoms" or "signs" of pregnancy (early pregnancy) but the home tests are saying negative. My period was due Thursday March 19,2009. Today is Monday the 23rd. I have not spotted or started. I am now 4 days late. I have been experiencing severe fatigue (I took two naps yesterday) I am going to bed an hour or two earlier than normal and am sleeping in until the very last minute to make it to work on time. This has been going on for the last two weeks. I have been bloated-bad, having spells of constipation over the last two weeks. My nipples (not breasts) are sore and always erect or hard. The areola on my right nipple is darkening more and faster than my left. I have never noticed a darkening before. I have not been vomiting, but I do feel a little queasy sometimes, like right before lunch at work but that goes away when I eat. I have been urinating more frequently. I tried to remember all the times I went yesterday, and from 7:30 to around three I went every hour almost at the same time. I was not drinking large volumes of fluid, or hardly anything at all. I am not nor have I been on any medications, ie: birth control, over the counter, RX etc. I have not been sick or under excess stress. To my knowledge I don't have any health problems. The home tests keep saying negative (the most recent one was this morning at 4 days late). I don't think I have miscalculated either. If I am not pregnant, what could be wrong with me? Is it possible that I could be "imagining" all these symptoms? If AF still doesn't show up, how long before I retest or need to see a dr? Thanks!

Maybe try another test at the end of the week if your period still hasn't shown up. It could just be off, but obviously pregnancy is going to be a possibility.

If still negative, and the possible symptoms continue, let your doctor know. They will suggest either waiting a bit longer and testing again, have you come into the office and test there, or perhaps they may suggest a blood test.
