    Leaky bathroom sink drain
    Hi all,

Bought a house and noticed recently the basement bathroom drain is leaking... after checking everything I noticed that the seal beneath the sink is the culprit.

Having problems figuring out exactly how to stop the leak... I've tried plumbers tape around the joint... plumbers putty around the seal... all to no avail.

Appreciate questions or more importantly... answers! :)

The (usually black) washer probably needs to be replaced. For the life of me, I can't remember what it's called, but they're available at hardware stores. You'll need to remove the sink drain including the washer and replace it.

First , take channel locks and give it 1/2 turn. See if the leak stops. But, as Perrito said, chances are that it will have to be replaced. Remove drain, remove the washer, take it to Home Depot, buy new one, install it.
