Hi Jeff. Explain a little more. What do you want to plant and what part of the world are you located in. It makes a difference.

    Hi, jeff suttle!

Yes, it does make a difference to to what you want to plant and where you're located.

There are charts that can help you to decide when would be a good time to plant just about anything.

    Thanks!

Hi Jeff... if you are buying packets of seeds, then they always give lots of information...
    When to plant,
    How deep,
    Sun or shade
    When they will flower
    When to prune
When ripe for picking and so on.

Where ever you purchase your plant... maybe a garden centre... you can always ask for any advice regarding your plant, the staff will be happy to help you.

Also you have the option of looking on line or visiting the library, who will have numorous books that you can read giving you lots of information about any type of plant and how to care for it.

    Really??

    Mkay.

Well, as stated, its kind of nice to know what you might want to plant and where you live.

Your statement is a lot like "when to have surgery" without knowing anything about the situation... or "when is it ready to eat" without knowing what is cooking and for how long.

A few more keystrokes is the difference between ambiguity and an answer.
