Can I move out of my guardians house when I am 18 even if I haven't graduated yet?
OK, I'm 17 and in 6 months I will be 18. What I want to know is if I can move out of my guardian's house when I am 18 even though I have not graduated yet? I have heard that the guardian has to sign something and OK it. I have always thought that when you turn 18 you are a legal adult and you can do "anything you want." (obviously if it abides with the law) If you could help me out asap that would be appreciated! Please only reply if you know FOR SURE! 100% It's very important! Thank you! :)

Depends on your state laws. Do you have any plans on where you might live and how you will support yourself?

Well I would be staying with a family in another city! Very good family! I want to graduate from a school I used to attend before my previous guardian made me leave the school! She was very controlling! I live in Wisconsin but I'm not sure of the rules!

I'm sorry, but I don't think the other scholl would allow you to transfer at this point. Have you investigated that?

I would say that first you need to check with the school,
I am sorrta confused, since at 18 you would normally be a senior and in 6 months should be already graduated.

Can I assume you are a Junior and want to move to another city to do your Senior year.

And of course if your new guardian lived in another city it would only be right to move your school there.

Also what sort of guardian is it, Does it have to do with Child Protective Services, is there government payments invovled ?

I am a junior. Yes, the school would let me! It would be for next year. School starts in September and I turn 18 October 5th.

Also what sort of guardian is it?" Um... well She's my legal guardian! I believe through child services. We went to court! She's my step sister! She doesn't get money though.

I'm confused. You posted this in another thread. So if your step sister has won guardianship what's the problem?

Oh sorry! I'm new on this website! Just getting used to it. That was to someone else! I just want to move when I'm 18 to another city to go to a school there! I just don't know if that's allowed, like if I need my sister to say it's OK for me to since I haven't graduated yet!

I know you posted in a different thread, but it still makes things confusing. Will your sister agree? Then all you need to do is check with the school to see what's necessary.
