    2000 Odyssey Noisy Front End
    Hi,

I have a 2000 Odyssey with 270,000 kms. The front end is very noisy going over bumps.
I've been to the dealer several times and have had the struts the sway bar bushings and the control arm bushings, and a ballpoint replaced ( they say the other ball joint is OK). About $2000 later, the ride is still rough going over bumps ( although a rattle sound issue was resolved). My old truck rides 5 times better. The vehicle has been dealer maintained since day one ( although I am the second owner, I have all the service records. It seems that the original owner "ran something over" according to the records, yet the dealer found no issues. The van drives and handles great on smooth surfaces, and there are no odd noises other than the loose feeling in the front end when going over bumps. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
It's a frustrating issue that has been going on for years.
    I appreciate any input

    Regards,
    Dave

Torque each suspension nut to specification, particularly the sway bar link nut going to the strut. If this nut is not tightened properly, it will beat the strut to death and not properly mitigate sway. These days most shops use air, resulting in over-torqued or under-torqued fasteners. I would also focus on the fasteners going to the control arms. Regardless, check everything with a torque wrench. If the mechanic had test driven the vehicle, the problem should have stood out to him.
