Hi, If I have been served with a summons for a petition for an Order of Protection in Illinois and I live in Florida. What should I do? What should't I do?

First is there any basis for the order, have you been harassing them, calling them, emailing them or doing something to cause this to be needed.

If you have, then most likely they will get it anyway.
Next what is the reason for them wanting it, is it a ex that is going to use this for a child custody issue

But after that, you appear and fight it, or hire an attorney in that area to try and get it dismissed
