    Transport a electric water heater
Can you lie it down to transport it

    KISS

The tank is glass lined and has little strength in that direction.

It's your call: Distance, condition of the roads, boxed, on a flat surface, immobile (tied securely) would all come into play.

I'm going to hafta agree with KISS on this. It depends on whether you stand it up and strap it n or lay it down. Much less shock if you stand it up. Although when I transport a boxed heater out to be replaced I lay it down in the bed of the truck. Will this heater be boxed? Answer KISSes questions and we'll get back to you. Good luck, Tom
