I'm not an expert on this, but I know that many of my female friends have tried to get pregnant and haven't conceived success for a long time before it worked. Check with your doctor if you're worried, as there might be some sort of fertility drugs that could help you in giving birth.

As SBowman said, it can take quite a bit of time. Most couples will become pregnant within a year of unprotected sex. Some will take a bit longer even though everything is perfectly fine.
Usually you would have to be trying for at least a year before your doctor would start suggesting testing to see if there is a possible fertility issue. Testing would be for both you and your partner.
For now, try not to worry... not easy to do when you are hoping to get pregnant I know. Be sure you are taking care of yourselves, start on prenatal or a multivitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid in it if you aren't already to decrease the possibility of some specific birth defects once you do become pregnant.
