Here is what I suggest.
You stated your natural nail really hurts. So.. leave the acrylic attached for now and put a bandaid on it until you feel you can soak it off.
BUT CeCe, you MUST change the bandaid if you get it wet since you can get a fungus from the water which will settle between the acrylic and your natural nail. ( That is even for a simple hairline crack in the future as well) Moisture breeds bacteria.
