Ask Me Help Desk - Do we have a ghost

I live with my 10 yr old daughter in a ground floor apartment.
We moved 16 months ago.
Occasionally there have been few unexplained happenings - like an old earring appearing on the floor, the shower turning itself on, lights flickering etc.
Just this evening things have escalated. First strange haunting music filtered through the computer speakers-i was playing online pool with Yahoo games - no other programme was open - it happened twice. Then the TV turned on out of the blue and there were noises in the kitchen.
We have 6 cats and two of them are going crazy - not frightened but hyper and quite mad.
Do we have a ghost? And are we at danger (I don't feel in danger)

First of all, rule out any normal eplanations that there could be, (I am a strong believer in this fied) but you need to rule this out first, have there been any complaints from previous tenants about the electrics for e.g. animals are usually very in tune with their sixth sense so keep a strong eye on there behaviour, do they look like there looking at anything or staring in one spot for a length of time?

The happeneings you have had in your house do sound very spooky,

Do you ever feel a presence in the house with you? Like your being watched or that there is a feeling of someone in the room with you?
If you do not feel in any danger then the chances are you are not!
If your house was haunted and the spirit(s) were not happy with you the I'm sure it would have been made known by now.

If you are feeling brave at any time try calling out to them, just say something like, " do you mind me living in your house?" and ask for 2 knocks for yes and 1 for no, but like I said if you don't feel scared or in any danger then they or it is more than likely just trying to make itself known to you in a friendly way and perhaps would like agnwledgement.(sorry spelling lol)

Thanks for your response - things are quiet now - I do think there is something here but as you said and we feel - it is a friendly presence. :)

I have had similar things happen, gold neckless should up one day hanging from the drain under the kitchen sink. Old time music which sounded like an old record player with the big horn speaker. Very cold at times even in mid summer. The sound of the front door opening and closing on a regular basis. I was on the second floor and the first floor was empty the entire time (2 yrs). One day laying in bed (which was up against a wall and my back was to the wall) watching TV and almost a sleep I felt a hand just lay on my shoulder and I turn so fast and smacked my face into the wall behind me. I felt it was a male as at times, I thought I actually seen him a few time Just getting a glimpse out of the corner of eye. Never caused any harm just like to play games on us, turning the ac on, turning radio on, CD out of racks and on the floor.

One day I got real brave and made this statement just after hearing the door open and close, I must add my wife was very upset that I did this. . If you are here show me a sign, within seconds an electrical outlet plate just snapped off it's screw and when flying acrossed the room. Want to talk about agreeing with the wife, just maybe she was right and asking for the sign may have not been a good idea. However life went on and the old music, ac turning on, cd's on the floor, sound of door opening and closing continued. We moved and still today 15 years later we still talk about those unexplained happenings.
