Can grandmother take his place as guardian
    Hello
I have a 24 month old daughter and her father has agreed to sign his rights over so that he won't have to pay child support... which I don't want anyway.. I'm only getting it because the state made me.. he hasn't been around her hardly at all since she was born... also we were never married.. and his name is on the BC

I was told that he can't sign over his rights unless someone is willing to adopt her..

So my question is can my mother take his place?

Are you married to her? Then no. Sorry. Your husband (spouse) can adopt and pretty much no one else if you are still in the picture.

Take the child support and start a college fund or something.
