    Sharing common groung wire OK?
I'm running 240v to 100 amp subpanel about 90 ft via pvc conduit. Also two 20 amp branches about midway to ext. outlets via same conduit. Can I ground those outlets tying to same ground wire (10 gauge) running to sub? If so, should I increase gauge size from that point to main? Thanks!

First off, a 100 amp feeder must use a minimum of a #8 equipment grounding conductor, not #10, per Table 250.122 of the NEC.

See a sticky at the beginning of this forum to gain access to read the NEC.

Once the proper size EGC is installed for the 100 amp feeder, it can be used to ground the receptacles that are midway in the conduit run.

I am assuming there are #12 branch circuit wires in the conduit to feed these outlets, along with the 100 Amp feeder conductors?

Thanks tk. I haven't done anything yet. Yes, I'll be using #12 for the 20amp branches. I am to find the desired info from the nfpa/nec code guide as yet. A union electrician neighbor what gauges would "be fine". Hence the #10 for the ground. I suppose the #8 for the hot feeds to the sub he suggested should rather be #6 as well right?

I don't think your neighbor understood that this is to be a 100 amp sub panel.

You need #4 copper or #2 aluminum for the hots and neutral and #8 copper or #6 aluminum for grounding.

Did know this was to be a 100Amp panel/feeder, run don't walk from any advice he gives.

    Is someone guessing here:

Good thing nothing was done yet. Best you explain the entire plan with sizes of everything, and there are several experts here that will explain in detail what works and does not, starting with Tev, he sized your feeder conductors for you. There are many other details that are needed.
