I am not aware of starting a willow bush from a cutting. You can buy willow bushes at a garden nursery for about $10. By the way, if it is a p*ssy willow bush you are interested in, they are very, very hardy and almost impossible to kill - even when they are cut back and cut down to the ground! I have one next door that I have hacked down to around 5" from the dirt and it keeps coming back and growing strong regardless! Try not to plant too near a building either as the roots can be intrusive as well.

You can cut a branch. At least one joint on the branch, push it into the ground, keep it wet and it will root and grow.. I have tried this several time and it works... you can ever lay it long ways just under the ground and it will root... just remember to keep it wet or moist...
