    sanctions for probation violation
My son is on probation for distribution of marijuana. Recently after being on probation for almost a year, He was stupid and got a dwi. The prosecution is trying to give him 13 years for this, his first and hopefully his last violation. Is this the norm for this? Is there some where we can go for help. My thoughts are that it is racial, because a friend of his was caught with coke, and x, and is on 3 other probations and all he got was 5 more years of probation.

What was his original sentence? In other words how many years/months in jail/prison was he originally sentenced to and given probation instead?

Also, race has nothing to do with one case to another.

Also possession and distribution are two different type of charges and should not be looked at as the same as they are dealt with quite differently. What his friend "got" has no bearing on what your son will get.

    Hello peh:

Yeah, those prosecutors aren't very human are they. Hopefully, the JUDGE will be better adjusted. No, I don't think your son will do 13 years for DWI.
