    Refund of NY state tax.
    Hi
I was employed in US on H1B in the year 2007 and 2008. I have filed the Income Tax returns for both the years at appropriate times and have got refund of Federal tax for both years. But there seems to be some problem with the refund of my NY state tax.

    Details below.
I was employed in New York but was a resident of New Jersey state. So I have filed NJ1040 for New Jersey and IT-203 (non resident) for New York state.

Why I am not getting any refund from NY state taxes though there is a refund of a few hundred dollars shown in my return...

What must be wrong, any ideas? If I dial their helpline, the put me onto the IVRS which does not give any info...

Any help would be really appreciated...

    Thanks
    Milind.

    Milind:

You need to be persistent with the NY state tax people to find out WHY they are not refunding your money.
