Inadequate waight gain of my 11 month old baby girl
    Hi

I have a baby girl who is almost 11 months old but her waight is only 6.7 kg. She takes four solid diets and three or four milk diets. SHe was born at 2.5 kgs. Please tell me if there could be any problems with her. During my pregnancy inmy eighth month I was diagnosed with asymmetric iugr but that was recovered in the later months.

    Pleasde help!

Can you explain what you were diagnosed with?

If you are concerned about your infants weight then it is time to seek medical advice through a doctor or child's specialist.

Poor weight gain could be serious you should seek medical attention immediately. It could be a sign of CF.

Was there any evidence of iugr at birth or was she simply on the small side? Did she have any difficulties when she was born?

Given her birth weight, she has actually shown steady growth and is where she would be expected to be. While she may weigh less than average for an 11 month old, she also started weighing less than the average newborn. It is important to keep that in mind if you are comparing her weight with friends' or family members' children of the same age.

Has she been reaching the usual milestones in development... sitting, crawling, pulling up, maybe trying to stand and/or cruising furniture, etc. Has her doctor voiced any concern about her growth pattern?
