Switch from home network to internet service on one computer
I have comcast internet and digital voice. Due to other computer in our home we switched to home networking. The modem for this network service wasn't installed on main computer of account holder.
Now, I want to switch back to internet on one computer. I tried reconnecting the cables to previous modem before there was a home network and I got a 'no network adapter' message.

I wanted to move the network modem, all to main computer but there is some equipment on the cable which keeps it from moving and I was unable to pull it through the hole. Any suggestions? I wanted to see what else is out there before calling comcast. Thanks

If you have a home network, that means you have a router. The modem is not, therefore, connected to any one computer, but its connected to the router. Your PCs are then connected to the router as well.

I really don't understand why you would want to change that setup.
