The shower in the master bathroom. The sink has plenty of hot water, but not the shower. I had it before I replaced the old water heater, and now I have none. Can someone give me some advice on what to do?

What you have done is disturbed some mineral built up on the hot water pipe wall and now it has been sucked up into the inlet port of your shower valve.
The solution would be to shut the water off to the valve and open it up. Pull out the cartridge and clean the inlet ports. While you have the valve open turn the hot water on for a minute to flush out the supply. To be more specific I'll need the brand name and it's age. Good luck, Tom

What part are you wanting for the brand name? The water heater is a GE 50 Galloon and it is 5 days old. Not sure about the valve cartridge and all, I am a novice when it comes to some of this stuff

I'm asking about the mixing valve. That's where the problem is. It's a one handled valve, yes? The brand name should be on the handle. Regards, tom

Yes it is a one handle valve. It has Delta on it.

Ed, It's not too good a idea to put your last name out on the internet.
I'm going to put up a Delta mixing valve as a guide. Dig down to #7 (the seats and springs and clean out the ports. While the valve's open turn the water back on to flush out the supply. Reassemble and test. Good luck, tom

Guide is not quite like mine. I am having a hard time getting to #7.There is nothing that I can pour down the drain to clean it out... hahaha. I am real frustrated as this has been going on since Thursday and you are the first person to actually give me some info on what to do and I can't seem to get it done.

I am ready to give up. How much do you think it would be to have someone come and clean this for me? I wish you lived in the panhandle instead of the sarasota area

The debris in # 6, 7, or 8. Be patient. Remove piece by piece. It is like a jig saw puzzle. You can do it...

My problem is I can't seem to get those parts apart. I am not really sure what I need to take apart. Any sugestions on how to get them apart? I am stuck on piece #3 and how to take it apart

Do any of these look more like your faucet? Let me know...

If you are stuck on #3 above or #1 at the picture on right (the adjustment ring) then you need to span the ring using a large wood chisel, for example, and SPIN the adjustment ring out counterclockwise... there should be grooves for the chisel to engage.

Ed... in my previous post I see two faucets side by side. Do you see valves one on top of the other? If so... does your valve resemble the one with the black plastic plate? If so, re-read my previous post as it now explains how to remove the adjusting ring (part #RP250).

Turn water off. Remove the handle, Unscrew #4 - and rest of it will pull out by hand. The #7 in Tom's post will be set deep inside the body of the faucet. Take skinny screw driver and carefully remove them. Be careful, they sit on springs. Don' t lose them... Reinstall in back ward order..

Guys I can't thank you enough. If you can, please check back tomorrow. I unfortantly have to head off to bed as I will be getting up in 5 or 6 hours for work. I will work on this again tomorrow when I get done and have no distractions. I do think I may have loosened a little of the debis in there as I did get some warm water out of the faucet after I played around with it. Thaks again and I hope to hear from you tomorrow

Thanks ED... and try Milo's approach first.. the adjusting ring is not a major component here. Unscrew #4 as in Tom's first picture and you should be all set!

Not sure what I did, but I did manage to get some of it apart, and I was going to give up an start looking for someone to come and fix it, and what do you know, I have HOT water like never before. Hopefully it will be there when I take a shower tonight

Congratulations ! You probably had some debris inside the mixer. It got loose and flushed out as you were working on it...
