How do I recover lost downloads from bbc iplayer
I am new to the internet but have enjoyed downloading programs to 'My Downloads'.
Once before my download page said I had no downloads when there were several programs. They appeared again as mysterially as they had disappeared!

Yesterday my download page once again said 'You have no downloads'. There are a number of programs there and they have not expired.

I googled this question and the answer was to reboot the PC. I have a laptop, I don't know what 'reboot' means, how to do it or indeed whether it is necessary.

Is there an alternative way to recover my downloads? How do I reboot? What does 'reboot
    'mean?

    Please make any instructions basic!

    Thanks,

Most simply put Reboot means Turn It OFF and ON Again.

As for your downloads, as this is a web based service there could well be something amiss on their end, which you have ZERO control over.

I do have to ask, rather than downloading why not simply watch the programs online, streamed ?
The availability is the same either way.
