I have been attempting to find out who the owners of two abandon property in Detroit, MI so that I can see how I can purchase them. I have the addresses but have been unsuccessful in finding the property owners and I have limited knowledge on how or what I should be doing first. So far, I have only view the outside of both properties and have attempted to do searches on-line related to who the owners are. I will be very grateful if someone could direct me in this endeavor.

You go down to the recorder of deed office and see who owns the property and if there is a lien.

You go to the property tax office and see who is being billed or paying the property tax.

You would have to go down to the county clerks office to do a deed search manually.
