I am in Florida and would like to move my outside water system inside the garage due to a lot of thefts, I have a submersible pump and an outside pressure tank (blatter type), I would like to leave the pressure switch and gauge outside but move the pressure tank and water filtering/softner inside the garage.

This would mean instead of the 6 inch Tee between the gauge and the pressure switch it would be about 5-6 feet into the garage.

Is there any problem having the tank 5-6 feet away or would it basically just store a little more water?

This confused me, (A 6" tee is used in stove piping) until I figured out that 6" was the distance between the gauge and pressure switch. But then I became more confused when you proposed to lengthen the distance between them from 6" to 5 or 6 feet. But you said you want to keep both the gauge and switch outside. So here I am, setting in Sarasota more confused then ever. Want to help me out here?

I see no problem in moving the tank.

The pressure tank is connected with a 6 inch long nipple, I would like to extend that pipe into the garage and install the tank in the garage about 5 to 6 feet.

Cape Coral, they are stealing the outside water systems, you know what I mean Tom about extending the nipple into the garage? And no problem doing it?

Are most of the water systems outside in Sarasota? The weather has been really hot here the last week or 2.

I worked Fort Myers back in the 60's when Cap Coral was just a dream out in the wet lands next to the river and was just starting to plot out. . There were no roads in and prospective buyers were flown over the land by small plane and the salesman would point down at a patch of land and say, " there's your new dream home". I guess things are different now huh? I have no problem with bringing the bladder tank inside. Most of our pumps are sprinkler systems. We haven't had a problem with the type of theft that you describe. Our thieves steal copper, appliances and air conditioners from new construction sites. Good luck, Tom
