Who taught you how to shave?

I didn't have a male role model, so I taught myself. My mother bought an electric razor for me which Ive used for awhile. I tried the single and double manual razors, but disliked them compared to my electric razor. Didn't really learn how to lather and shave until around 20. Which I used the internet to help. Just found it a little depressing, and wanted to know how others learned. Was it enjoyable or easy, or did you struggle and quit a few times?

Taught myself as well, no problems though, kind of started the same as you with an electric shaver then tried manual but I prefer the electric one too, don't worry about it too much yea it does seem a little depressing but so are many other things in life but you just got to takeem all in your stride and keep moving forward

A friend of mine learned to shave without a father-figure. He claims that his beard now grows several different directions because that's how he shaved when he first started. Hmmm, might be true.

Depending on your skin and hair type an electric razor might be all you'd ever need. Some guys have tough hair and tender skin, Shaving is almost always "traumatic" for them resulting in abraded skin and other stuff.

As a female, I need two brand new blades for each leg to avoid getting razor burn. I can shave my arms for a year with the same blade and not have any problems. My legs don't get shaved very often.

Some men should not have to shave unless they want to.

Nothing like a hot lather with a real razor, learned to do it in the military.

I was never taught by myself. I started shaving in 6th grade and just started with the shaving cream. I didn't have much hair then, but enough to annoy you. I eventually got an electric razor and used it for a month or 2 but it just sits there now because it caused me to get razor burn or something like that. I enjoy using a 4 blade razor with some good 'ol barbosol shaving cream. I was never taught and thinking about it is kind of depressing. Not like the movies I used to see when I was little

I taught myself how to shave. I lathered up and used a razor I bought from Rite Aid. Then I had to put a ton of TP all over my face for all the cuts :)

Funny. I would initially sneak dad's electric or single blade manual.

I had a manual vibrating razr that I liked. Used the dual blades.

So as for now, it's either the Mach 3 or a Trac II and I shave in the shower in the morningwithout a mirror. The Mach 3 does a better job shaving, but the head always falls off. The Trac II works, but not as sharp as the Mach 3.

Electric razors don't cut it.

The problem was finding a lubercant that works. The lathery kind don't work very well. It's great for cleaning your eyeglasses, though. You can mix it with eucerin Cream or Eucerin Daily facial and get a nice lubercating shave.

For the most part, I use Edge. It only requires a very small amout, so it lasts a long time. I use one that is hypoallergenic and make sure to rinse with warm water first followed by cold. The cold closes the pores.

In a pinch, cheap shampoo and soap make a good shaving cream.

Now a shave with a straight blade and a hot lather machine can't be beat.

You should see my Acne regimin. Everything is "as needed". 2 prescription meds are required, unfortunately.
The other products are "Hard to find" and will likely have to be special ordered. I've been strugling with Acne for 45 yrs. I pretty much have the process licked.

Very good KISS. I used to have very very bad acne. I have been pretty clear for about 5 years now. I get one now and again.

I used clippers to avoid irritating acne spots.
Shaving over it just makes it worse...
Least that's my opinion.
Now I don't really have a problem with it. Its mainly when I was 15 - 17 around my chin.
