Is my mother's boyfriend entitled to our estate inheritance?
My mother passed away a couple months ago. I am executor of the estate and my brother and I get equal share of the estate. My mother inherited all she has from my grandparents. There are a couple houses and a some other property. She was still working on getting one of the properties changed over into her name this year (because it is in another state and some tax laws she had not changed it yet) and all the rest were changed. The problem is she's had a live in boyfriend for about 20 years. He is a very controlling person and they didn't get along the last few years. He did step up during her illness and helped take her to doctors, etc. That's why when my mother left him out of the will we are allowing him to stay at her house and live there rent free. He apparently never paid any of the bills but we're going to have him pay utilities. There is no mortgage and we'll even pay the taxes. I heard he has a lawyer (I don't know if it's true) and he has told someone he was entitled to some of the inheritance. If my mother didn't name him in the will is he entitled to anything at all? By the way we are in the state of Maryland if that makes a difference.

He's not entitled to inherit - he has no legal standing.
