How do you install a cleanout next to your house?

Should I assume you are talking about your sewer pipe?/ Is it PVC, cast iron or what material and are you on septic or city sewer?

Let's convert to PVC if you haven't already got installed. Dig down and expose the sewer line. Purchase a 4" PVC Drainage Tee, A Clean out cover,(see images), enough PVC pipe to get you up to the ground and a few feet more, a small can of PVC Cement and primer and two 4" No-Hub Bands, (see image).
Cut two 6" pices of PVC pipe and prime and glue the pipes into the two ends of the tee. Measure the tee from end to end and make your cut 1/2. of a inch longer then your measure. After you have cut into the sewer line place the metal bands on the sewer line and the neoprene gaskets on each of the ends and peel them back on the pipe. Place the tee in the opening with the branch looking up and snap the gaskets over the tee. Tighten the bands.
Prime and glue the cleanout on the PVC pipe amd cut it so it will be about 1/2 inch beneath the ground level when you glue into the branch of the tee. ( If you leave it too high you will cut the cover with your lawn mower.)

This should get your cleanout installed OK. If you have questions fire away.

Good luck and thank you for rating my answer. Tom PS. Is there any reason thatyou don't have a cleanout already installed?
