Trying to identify a very old 'oldie', from about 1954
I'm trying to identify a hit ballad from the first half of the 1950's, sung by a male vocalist, not a group. It could have been the flip side of a 78 record that had a major hit on Side 1. They played it at community centre dances when I was in junior high, and we used to call it "Aye, aye, aye", but I don't think that was the name. Here are snatches of lyrics, probably not in order. "You brought me a thrill so divine. So now in my dreams, you are taunting me so-the thought of you seems to be haunting me so. So please make my life heavenly, aye , aye, aye... (and bring me a thrill so divine, ) Are there any old fogies like me out there, who can identify this?

"Green Eyes" by The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra (with vocals by Helen O'Connell and Bob Eberle)

Reached #1 in 1941, revived by R&B group "The Ravens" in 1955, with regional success.

On the flipside of the record (Jimmy Dorsey) was song "Maria Elena", which later became #1 for 2 straight weeks.
