I know how do word equation but not with solutions
Help!
Sometimes you don't even mention the water -- if it doesn't enter into the reaction. Other times, you'll indicate (aq), aqueous:
NaCl (aq)
Phenolphthalein is an indicator and if you're only using it as an indicator, you won't mention it. Otherwise, you would write out the formula and balance the equation.
Lithium? That's a metal and a very strong reducing agent (antioxidant?)
Li + H2O = Li(OH) + 1/2 H2
In some situations, you would write the waters of hydration:
CaCl2 + 6 H2O = CaCl2·6H2O
or
CaCl2 + 4 H2o = CaCl2·4H2O
(Calcium chloride exists both as the "hexahydrate" and the "tetrahydrate").
Does this help?
