    Flange over drain pipe
How do I remove the flange from the toilet drain pipe?

    Thank you
    Mary

Probably a grinder with a cut-off wheel would be best; a hack saw might work also. They now make a two piece stainless steel replacement flange that you put under the flare of the pipe and join the two halves with a couple of screws. If Home Depot doesn't have them, a good plumbing supply should. Good luck.

    Hi Mary,
I need a few details before I can answer. What material's the flange made of? Cast iron or plastic? Why do you wish to remove it? If it's got a broken slot they make a repair kit for it so you won't have the hassle of removing it.
    Talk to me! Cheers, Tom
