How do I cut a hole in a concrete wall to fit a exterior door?

There are saws and blades made for this but, have you spoken to a structural engineer to see what effects this would have on the wall. You may need to add some kind of support at the head of the new opening to prevent cracking above, often times a steel lintel or plate is required.

This is generally not a DIY job because of the machinery needed and the structural analysis needed as Amricca points out. You can rent a concrete cutting machine that looks like a cross between a chain saw and a cutoff chopper. Kind of dangerous in unskilled/inexperienced hands. Just to add to the good posts above. Rental companies rent 2 cycle gas powered chains saws that have diamonds on the chain for deep wall cuts. They are hard to keep straight.

The regularly used saws are called concrete cutoff saws they also rent those. Use the diamond blade. If you rent the blade its usually measures in three places before you use it to get an average dia before rental ware and remeasured when you return it. Its charged by the thousands. ( that's how they do it here )

There are dry cuts and wet cuts diamond blades. If dust is a factor get a saw that has a hose hook up on or use a pump sprayer with a helper and a wet cut blade, There also is a cured cut blade and "green concrete" blade.

Are you cutting block or all concrete ? Thinking of rebar in wall and blade application.

Not an engineer here but if its block what's above the door and any windows?
