My Mind Goes BLANK when I see math problems Alg 2
    Hello All:
I have not had math in over 2 years. In high school.

    Problem:

    3m/4 + 2/3=7/12 m=?

I know there is something about finding a common denominator
    9m/12 + 8/12 =7/12
    but then what?

I am sure this is super easy for most everyone... Please help!

Eliminate the common denominator 12. Work with what is left of the equation which is the top of each fraction (numerators)

    Hello blankmathmind

    3m/4 + 2/3=7/12 ---> m=?

This looks much more difficult than it is.
You were already on the right track with the 9m/12 + 8/12 =7/12

    If 1 apple = 10 ct, than 5 x 1 apples = 5 x 10 cts.
    And if 1 apple and 2 peaches = 25 cts, than 4 x 1 apple and 4 x 2 peaches = 4 x 25 cents.
So you may multiply all items with any value, as long as you do the same to all items involved at both sides of the = sign.

So what happens if you multiple all items in 9m/12 + 8/12 =7/12 with 12?
Follow this up with keeping the m at left, and all else right of the = sign.
Don't forget to change + into - (or - into +) when passing anything from left to right the = sign.
That way math is easy for you too !
