Hello. This is my first post on this site. I'm 19 years old, and I think that I may be pregnant. My periods are usually normal , and have never been this late. My last period January 23rd, and I had unprotected sex during my ovulation. I am now 19 days late for my period, and hoping for a baby. I've taking 3 urine tests, all negative. Is it too early? What else could be wrong? I haven't been under any stress, or excessive exercising. Can someone please give me an answer? ::eek: thank you in advance

I did with 2 of them, the last one I took last night, but the first two were more than a week ago with morning urine. I am just nervous it could be something else. I have no insurance and am extremely nervous to make a dr. apt because I don't have the money right now.

You can call your local health department and see if they will do a blood test for you?

I'm waiting for insurance through my job. I know how expensive they are. I just wasn't sure if the health department does blood tests.

Be very careful with your timing of getting pregnant. Coming from no health insurance, pregnancy can be considered a pre-existing condition and likely will not be covered by your job's plan. Definitely inquire about it so you know for sure. You can look into medicaid for pregnancy as another possible option.

The best most accurate test to find out whether you are pregnant or not is to get a blood test.

As was suggested, see about the possibility of having a blood test done. Or wait until your next period would be due and see if this one is just late or if you are skipping this cycle... it happens sometimes. You can try another home test every now and then if you wanted to. Or call the doctor's office and see what a blood test would cost you out of pocket.

I realize your initial question was not about insurance, however that very well can become a major headache for you if you become pregnant before your health insurance kicks in. That was the point. You may want to reconsider trying to get pregnant until you have the coverage. Babies are expensive, as you know, but you can increase that expensive by a tremendous amount without having insurance in place prior to getting pregnant... even more so if you happen to end up with any medical concerns during the pregnancy.
