My husband bought the/our house in 2003. We married in 2004. And remodeled the house in 2007. I paid for the remodeling from money I inherited. I am not on the title of the house yet. My husband seems to not want to make any move in that direction. What is my legal situation?

I hesitate to answer after seeing where you live. CA has laws that no other state have so I may be off with my read on your situation. Your husband can choose to put you on the deed but you have little leverage to force him to do so. If he were to pass or you divorced you would likely get the home, along with the mortgage, as long as there were no pre-nup or other provisions in his will.

you may want to consider saving up money for an attorney, and see if you can put a lien on the home for the value of the money you put into it. See if he will sign a loan paper for the money you put in if he will not put you on the deed
